Hello my hard drive keeps failing on me to the point where I have to restart the computer to get it to restart it and also the dvd drive won't close at all which is very suprising as I do not move this laptop from my desk.
My question is would it be hard to replace this items myself maybe someone knows of a small guide to doing it safely and what hardware would you recommend for it?
I have the Novatech Crossfire 1
Thanks

a lot of the time it is very easy replacing the hdd and dvd drive on a laptop.
if you take a look on the bottom of the laptop i think there will be a screw or two holding the dvd drive, remove these and the drive slides out.
i think the hard drive will be in one of three places.
a small caddy that slides out of the side of the laptop.[/*:m:36djwc3x]
under a panel on the bottom of the laptop.[/*:m:36djwc3x]
under the keyboard.[/*:m:36djwc3x]
i am not at work so i cant check this with anyone. if i am wrong i am sure one of my colleagues will correct me tomorrow when we are back at work.

Ok great, I think I see how the dvd drive is removed now and the hdd must be under the keyboard but I have no idea how to take that off without breaking it.
Thanks for the help though

the hard drive is the small 4" x 6" rectangular door in the center bottom of the laptop. 2 screws hold it closed.
The Keyboard is very awkward to remove, but there is only DIMM slots and a Mini PCI under that.
