Hi,

I've just bought the Hiper 350 Watt PSU (to replace a failed 4 year old supply). However, when I came to plug it in, it appears my motherboard (Intel OR840 - dual PIII) has an additional 6 pin aux supply connector that not many PSUs support?

Can anyone recommend a PSU which has one of these connectors on it and is preferably pretty quiet? Needs to be 350Watt or greater.

Thanks,

Nick

Look at the hiper 480W's, and go onto their web site and just check that they do have the connector first

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion - just taken a look at http://www.hipergroup.com and it looks like this doesn't support the 6 pin either :-(

Am getting the feeling this could be quite specialist as the motherboard is fairly old.

I've managed to track down a cable convertor (20 pin to 20 pin + 6 pin) but only available in the US and won't ship internationally...

Guess I'm back to searching google.....

Thanks,

Nick

instead of wasting that 350W psu, why dont you just get a new computer, wait a couple of months and get conroe gear :D

:-) Tempting - very tempting!

However I'd also like to build a media center for the living room and justifying two new PCs is going to be difficult! ;-)

As a PIII board, dual processor support is gonn abe hard to find as far as a PSU is concerned.

This may be a tricky one to get round.

Shall have a search see what can be found.
