I recently bought a new Novatech PC And when i started it showed PXE E61 erro and disk boot failure
even after putting in windows XP cd the same error plays back in a loop

I changed the boot sequence from cdrom to HDD to USB and disabled the other boot device which stopped the PXE E61 error but the Disk boot failure persists

i used all the methods posssible w/o opening the pc after googling it
i see the IDE CHannels 0- master, slave -- channel 1 master slave is none
and the ide channel 2 master id HDD and slave is TSST CDDVDW

i am unable to move forward
please suggest

Sounds awfully like a cabling or drive fault. :(

I'd contact Nova customer services here. Setting bios to defaults and boot order to CD before HD is correct for installing windows though. :?

PXE is the LAN Boot Function.

It is trying to boot from LAN as it has not found anything to boot from.

In the BIOS you can normally disable the LAN Boot ROM Function.

This will stop the system trying to boot from LAN. Please also make sure that boot sequence is for CD then hard drive.

he allready sorted the pixie boot :)

i'd suggest the only remaining thing to try in the bios is loading the default, see system7's post. If you're lucky it's just the cable fallen out the back of the hard drive, unlucky means hard drive, very unlucky motherboard, but this is pretty unlikely as the CD drive is showing. Speak with Novatech tech support, they will advise you of the correct procedure (not sure if they will want you to look inside the computer or not)
