DVD/RW drive

WHEN I PUT A CD IN TO MY DRIVE IT WON'T REED IT AND MY DRIVE DOESN'T SHOW IN MY COMPUTER.
PLEASE HELP

doesnt read any type of CD?

check the two cables are in the back correctly, one is a 4 pin connector with red black, yellow wires, and a wide ribbon cable.


if you have fitted this to the computer yourself make sure the jumper is set right.

a jumper is a simple switch on the back of the drive that tells the computer which setting its on, there are 6 pins on the back of the unit like this

two of these pins will have a bit of plastic over the top like this [ : | : ]

make sure its the right place, either "master" or "slave" and not cable select.
