Hi m8

Nelly, I agree Seasonic are admirable at the top and quiet PC end. They may sell very well for discerning users.

Happens Seasonic manufacture the Corsair HX520W and Corsair HX620W, pretty much along the same lines and spec as their own branded 500W and 600W models.

The fact is that Seasonic, Channel Well and FSP actually manufacture Zalman, Corsair, Antec, you name it... :P

As far as I am aware http://www.nanopoint.co.uk/ (http://www.nanopoint.co.uk/) handle RMA's for Seasonic & considering you get 5 years guarantee with this new range, it would be rather nice bonus.

Corsair RMA is in the Netherlands, with only one major competitor handling RMA's through themselves for the whole 5 year duration.

I'm pretty confident my Corsair won't blow up, though Wuyanxu here had a good experience with an RMA on a faulty one. :)

Probably most folks have a real problem selecting a power supply from Nova's vast range. I don't know how many times I've tried to explain 12V Combined current ratings and the pleasures of a well-engineered PSU.

And a certain buddy of mine always chips in with "Buy the Hiper, it's £10 cheaper...."

I don't mind the Hiper 530W as it goes, Squid. It's people thinking spending a few extra quid for the dated Hiper 580W thinking it's better, that bugs me. That model should have been strangled at birth.

So happens, Hiper are pretty good on giving a meaningful spec at their website. But those meshed cases are still a bit dubious on all their models, IMO. :)

Hello again,

Do you have any ETA on the SeaSonic M12D SS-850 850W PSU?

Would it be possible for you to add it to your website so I can pre-order? I can kind of see it but its like hidden lol - http://forum.novatech.co.uk/editpost.php?do=updatepost&p=54329 the 750W shows up okay.

Got some more bits to order i.e. GTX295, Biostar TPower X58, Seasonic 850W, OCZ Platinum 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit.

I don't know how any one is supposed to pick a power supply from Nova's range.

Maybe that's why it's always the Hiper 530W people go for.

A couple of good photos including the cable connectors and the electrical ratings sticker would help a lot.

I couldn't dig up any SilverPower data anyway, so they're an unknown quantity.

actually whats really needed is a full on graph showing all outputs to make it easier for people to see what they are getting.

Would save them going to the makers and chasing down the info, and might even boost sales because potential customers don't have to navigate away from the site.

So, recap:
proper psu specs (eg, in a clear easily understandable spreadsheet style)
full listings of all connectors available on the unit in question. photos are ok, but would increase the burden when it comes to information (either by having to host the pics themselves or hotlinking, in the end, the bandwidth would diminish possibly slowing down the site.

Newegg usually show a number of small pics which can be expanded, as example of a PSU.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151067&Tpk=seasonic%20850w

Not sure what rules are on competitors but it's in the USA anyway & doesnt ship across seas. ;)

But anyway if you look at that link it shows 8 small pics giving some detail of what you are getting.

Takes small amount of time but it would be a good idea to adopt the same approach.

Cons: On the first power-on, the power supply arced near its power switch and blew a houshold breaker. Tried a different outlet and it did the same thing, this time leaving the power switch unable to toggle into the off position.
I know there's always ONE in newegg customer reviews, Nelly...but not a good start. :p

Spot on with the photos. Newegg are really good on that.

Spot on with the photos. Newegg are really good on that.Yeah I read that, I have more info on that - Seasonic ended up taking the full batch from Newegg to strip down & retest, sounds like the bad batch scenario.

Hasn't put me off it happens, besides UK RMA can't go wrong.
