I live in a village about 2.5 miles from my nearest telephone exchange. I'm using Wandaoo 1mb Broadband, BT line and a Netgear wireless mode/router instead of the Wanadoo offering. The wireless part of the router is switched off via the router setup routine. Despite this, my connection is very flaky and the line is dropped frequently, particularly when the weather is stormy. The router "signal" light will flash orange as soon as the line is dropped and reconnection might take a couple of minutes. It's almost like the router can't synchronise with the ADSL signal. Anybody got any suggestions as to the cause - and better still any cure - it's driving me nuts!!

a lot of router problems are solved or at least improved by firmware updates. the first thing that i would do is visit the netgear website and download and install the latest version of the firmware for your router. there is a very good chance that this will solve the problem.

Danno you are a total STAR!!!
Downloaded the file from Netgear website, followed instructions to upload the file to the router (1 minute of nailbiting suspense!!) worked like a dream! Now have a stable and fast connection again! Thank You
