I have a single 256MB 7800GTX in a SLi motherboard. I don't know what vendor the card comes from though it does look physically exactly like the Leadtek card.

Can I put ANY other 256MB 7800GTX card in the spare slot, bridge them, correct driver, and run as SLi?

Many thanks

Using the latest drivers from Nvidia you don't need to have perfectly matched cards like you use to. They just have to have the same chipset.

So if you have a 7800GTX you must buy another 7800GTX, nothing else otherwise you cannot SLI.

So yes make sure you change any setting required on your mainboard to use SLI, Make sure you have adequate PSU to run two 7800GTX cards and everything should be fine.

The minimum for SLI i would say 500W, to be on the safe side, even though a hiper 480W would be okay

and dont get a cheap £20 psu either, they will do more harm than good.

you can get another 7800gtx from any vendor, but both cards will take the slowests frequencies, but seeing that it is SLI, i dont think that it should be a problem

Thanks for the assistance on that.

I have 550W PSU and the ability to add a second 7800GTX from any vendor will be very useful.
