atec/ novatech update after repair

couldn't find original sticky.

I have just received my atec av320 back. All inputs work and the HD picture is fantastic. Thanks to all involved, especially Alec, who kept all of us updated and corrected our mistakes, when wrongly venting our anger at the manufacturer and supplier.

I hope everyone gets their tv's back soon...it will be worth the wait.

So do i go to the Atec website, then the Amkotron Uk Ltd email, and ask them to send me a box and arrange for my tv to be magically repaired? And is this free if your tv is less than 2 years old? How do i know if my tv needs to have an upgrade? Cancelled my Sky HD, when i found out it might not work, or is it a fault on all the 32" models?

If I remember correctly, the Atec 32" tv's with serial numbers beginning 64 should work ok.

Best thing you can do is call Amkotron (number in LCD TV thread under sticky for warranty) with your serial number and they will let you know if an upgrade is required and then advise you from there. My TV had to go back anyway - I had a colour casting fault which was fixed at the same time.

Correct, serial numbers beginning 64 or later of the AV320W model will be OK, but those sets earlier than that can be returned here for upgrade.

Many dealers are doing the upgrades too, so it might be quicker for you to contact them first.
