am going to try cycling power on the battery on my old Toshiba laptop some time soon,

was wondering if anyone knows of any software that could help do this.

What I am looking for, is to start the machine in DOS off a boot CD or floppy and run some kind of simple app that will keep saving the time and date settings to a script file,

so when the power fails and the machine goes dead, I could power up the machine later and find out exactly how long the power lasted, and I can then practice conditioning the battery further and see how much I can get. At present I get about 3 minutes, about enough to boot in XP! LOL.

Ive read various tricks on the net like putting the battery is the freezer (!) would be interested to know results of anyone who has tried this sort of thing.
