Some of you looking into this forum will already know what its all about :)
For others basically it all falls under a Banner Called ' Distributed Computing'...
This is where Universities and other companies allow home users and other people with large numbers of computers to help out with projects that one supercomputer on its own would take years but using a principle of Grid computing and having many computers helping out they can do much quicker than any super computer.
Projects cover all sorts of area's from Medical Science (Finding cures) / Climate Prediction to searching for Little Green men (Seti).
Its come along way over the years and below is a little link to some of the amazing systems that some have built.
