Not being one to just have an 'ok' system, I thought it was about time I upgraded.
Its always nice to have others opinions, so feel free to pick it apart.
AMD Phenom (of some sort, will know more later)
Asus M3N-HT Deluxe
8gb Crucial Ballistix- 800mhz 4-4-4-12
2x 1tb Sammy F1's (raid 0+1)
Sony Blu-ray,
A PSU and a Case
Water cooling
And the graphics.. now theres a decision.
I have about £500 to spend there, what would you recomend? A gtx295, a pair of 285's, or a pair of 260 55nm's?
Opinions please people.

Surprised you fancy NVidia chipset, Tek.
Gibbo reckons this Asus M3A79-T Deluxe AMD 790FX chipset is a goodie:

I want some powerful graphics, and the 4870x2 is just a little too toasty for me...
The amd chipsets are much better.. I used to have a nforce 4, loved it to pieces :D

What's happened to the Intel love? :(
LOL I hope you're happy with your choice. Let us know what you go for in the end bud. I'm not strong in the AMD area of knowledge, by any means.

LOL true. My AMD 2600+ rapes a Celeron @4.2GHz, it's nearly twice as quick and yet nearly half the speed!

Some people just dont learn lol go with the amd chipset buddy same rule applies as the intel stuff, amd chip will always perform better on a amd board. As with intel. And your gonna watercool the gpu so what does it matter how hot they get

Lol, from what I read the Nvidia chipsets are actually slightly faster...
Ive not got rad space to water cool the graphics, and doing so would cost another £100+, so its not really viable.. I will want to change it a month or so after I get it :P

The fan control on the ati cards now is ok so they arent that toasty, and dont tell me nvidia have actually got something right in the chipset business, so they overclock better etc than amd chipsets? I dont know about tbh not researched it at all yet.

Oh, I dont know about overclocking..
Nvidia AMD and Intel chipsets have virtually nothing in common, the AMD ones are a million times better..
The 4870x2 crossfire does look good actually, although its not as fast as 295 SLI and uses far more power idling :(
Power consumption is a biggy with this one!
