Although i have built a couple of pcs upto now i am by no means an expert i am looking at transferring my current build to another case ie the gs 1000,it looks like it will give me plenty of room to work in and also a very good airflow enviroment it looks good to the cable management looks superb and for the price a bargain, the only thing that does concern me a little is i have never seen or built a pc without a front intake fan,i would like to mention that i am not a gamer and i don't overclock my machines i am just a bit fussy on certain things ie temperatures/neatness etc so if anybody has one of these cases i would be pleased to hear their opinions as well as any info on the front intake fan.

Hi Skippy
I've just finished building a base unit using a GS1000 & all I can say is that it is a superb case, loads of room to work & as you've already mentioned great cable management.I would'nt worry too much about a front intake fan as the GS1000 has
plenty of scope for cooling.
For instance, I've fitted five Nexus 12cm silent fans in the case. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NEX-S12CMF
Two exhaust on top of the case, one exhaust at the back & two intake at the bottom (one being underneath the psu).Together with a Hiper type M 630w psu, it's superbly quiet & also supercool.
Although It's up & running,I'm not using it full time yet as I'm decorating the spare room for use as my computer room, & apart from that I haven't got a monitor for it yet. When it's ready I'll post pics & specs on it, but until then my advice is to go for it, it really is a quality piece of kit.:D

thanks for your input bald eagle i will take onboard what you say but the link that kevster gave me was also very imformative especially the bit in the article about the bottom intake fans which i believe were likened to vacuum cleaners as you said in your post you havn't had yours running 24/7 perhaps when you have you might see what they were on about is true click his link and see if you agree with what is said cheers again for your comments.

Skippy,
First of all,on the 'Vacuum cleaner' issue, I've fitted nexus filters http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NEX-FF120 on the two intake fans which should hopefully keep most of the muck out.
Most of the other comments raised in the review, I disagree with apart from one, the one about the two zalman fans that come fitted already. Yes they are noisy, thats why I changed them for the Nexus ones.
Regarding the 'badly fitting panels', mine fit perfectly so either the reviewer had a dodgy case or he'd been drinking. Again for the glossy black top panel, I think it looks great & so does everyone else who's seen mine, but then everyones got their own likes & dislikes.
The comment about the psu cables not being long enough after routing them through the cable compartment is quite valid with most psu's, but you have to remember that this is a large case, & thats partly why I went for the Hiper & boy am I glad I did. All the cables are more than long enough, even the 4 pin cpu power cable had more to go after routing through the cable compartment & out through the slot at the top of the case.
All in all, it's the best case & power supply I've ever bought ( and I've bought a few over the years ). I'm well chuffed with it so far but as you said, only time will tell.
Personally I think it was money well spent. Let us know if you decide to go for it & how you get on.

Personally I don't rate Hiper as they certainly had (if still not) a reputation of going pop, especially if used near their full stated capacity. They may look nice, but personally I would stay clear. I know of 2 friends alone who had issues with them.
I would fully rate my own Zalman's case build quality, though I wouldn't know about the GS in particualr.

Well since the newer models have come out we have had loads of the hiper models being purchased and none of them have come back, mine is great cant fault it at all, all makes of everything have bad patches look at seagate now hdd's bricking all over the place but they will sort it and will be good again, thats the commercial world ;)

Good to hear they have, in your opinion, sorted it. Allot of the reports I read of units going down were outside of warranty times though. The legacy also continued for several years and imo was not quickly addressed. It was not simply a "bad batch". I'm unfortunately still not convinced. The 580 design has not been radically changed to my knowledge.
Anyway great to hear you think they are improved. For myself though the trust isnt there. I'd much rather go for, say, Corsair for example or another make that I have trust with and that dont have a bad track record.
But at the end of the day trust and prefernce is of course a personal thing. This is obvioulsy just my view and I'm sure there are many, many satisfied Hiper users without issue.
