Hi there.
For some reason, there seem to be a large number of derelict Woolworth stores around, so I wondered if you'd be kind enough to build a new store, preferably in the Harrow area.
Thank you.
p.s.

It annoys me that there are no proper computer shops in Birmingham.

There should be a store in Northern Ireland tbh :p
Could do with one in Lincoln, to buy hardware and for a job!

Hi.
I reckon a good place would be Selby in North Yorkshire, the store is quite spacious, needs some attention, but it's a good place for a Novatek, also right next to it is a Halifax building society so no excuses to not buy something!!:p

be interested to know how well the actual shop does over the counter to net sales... not figures, just how popular the shop actually is to walk in and buy.

Well, no point sticking these shops in small towns as they need to be within big catchment areas.
Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Sunderland, Central London, Glasgow possibly Leeds / Sheffield / Nottingham.
To my knowlege, Ireland doesn't really have any decent Hardware Enthusiast Shops apart from a fairly well known seller of Ram.

Shops are really good for us but they are not good for everyone, shops only work if your shop stuff are top notch in both pre sales and post sales customer service. Then there is the issue of stock, you have to get the levels perfect and that is as hard as getting good staff - I think we are pretty good in both areas. There was a secret shooper article carried out by a compture magazine and the stores visited were Novatech, PC World, John Lewis, Currys and one other. We came second and the reason we did not win is our sales person went into too much detail about the laptop he was asked about - if that is the reason we did not win then I would have rather come second.
Retail is sooo hard to get right many try and most fail, it is not just about price and if it is then it is not about service you have to get everything perfect, the location, the store, the lighting, the product mix, the service, the stock levels, the staff and then some other stuff that also helps to make us what we are. I do not want this to turn into me saying how great we are becuase we do get it wrong from time to time and we still have more to learn. That said I hear more complements about our stores than anything else but then if you have ever met our retail manager you will know why they are so good - if his standards were any higher you will need a space shuttle to reach them.
As for new stores we are going to do a bit of a PR challenge soon and have a vote for which area the next store should be in - you never know we may just open the next one in the place that wins.

Are you serious? It would get broken into the first day during work hours even :shock:
kp, you`d be nutz not to have a location at the Metro Centre, Gateshead. 14,000 car park spaces gives you a general size of the place (biggest in Europe at one time) and the creme de la creme ... little or no competition ;)
And you have peeps like me (trained Commercial Manager) to run the place .... you can just kick back and drink some margeritas :D
So it`s settled then, PM me and you can come and stop here tomorrow night, we`ll do beer and play poker, shall be fun. Bring Max Headroom too :D

I used to buy on the net, but collect from the shop. A few years ago, the shop was always busy, with queues out the doors.
The quick-pickup scheme was introduced and made it simple enough to be in and out again in 5 minutes if you ordered on-line. Come to think of it, I think I even ordered some stuff whilst testing one of the display models in the shop and collected it quicker than my mate was able to queue and buy :D
Build a outlet in Kent :p

Pah try receipting 300+ tons a day and 14 artic loads a day when the sea's are rough and the ferry's can't sail lol and they can't make there booking slots lol ;)
Previous job (Food Industry) Warehouse 1 = 2500 locations (roughly 2300 Tons of raw material). (Packaging store = 1100 locations (Unknown tonnage but essentially 1100 tons if filled with 1 ton pallets )).
1500 tonnes of product going out to customers each week.
Big business back up by big computer system and warehouse management system (Made life easier).
Though I must admit scary when your putting your name to orders of £500,000 to £1,500,000  in a business where its turning over £300,000,000+ a year.
Anyhow back on topic lol... Manchester sounds good you have the Trafford Shopping center and good road infrastructure, I would rule out Nottingham has quite a few small computer companies, Leicester is a Great place and you have the Uni pretty much next to the town center ;)
Yorkshire... I think that is served by a quite well know computer outlet so prob not.
Can't say anything about any where else north of Yorkshire lol
