Well I got this acer 9300 about 18 months ago and already I think its had enough as it has the following problems
Webcam doesnt work
top row of numbers - 1 and 4 dont work
side row of numbers - 4 and 6 dont work - both feel like there is something stuck under but brushed and nothing
Right shift button doesnt work
H doesnt work so I have to google the alphabet , find the letter H and copy and paste it as with number 4
Right mouse button needs a hard poke to get it to work
Does anyone think there is anything I can do or do I need to take my savings what little I have at the moment and put up with this for a while and keep saving and buy a new laptop
Thanks Luke
The webcam not working is likely to be a driver issue or a Fn+ Fx button that is turned off. You could try updating the drivers although I'm not sure what it would be apart from those. As for the keyboard, have you tried taking your keyboard off and reseating the keyboard cable as I had a similar problem with a laptop of mine and it fixed it. If not you could try taking one of the keys off (carefully) and seeing if there is something wrong with the mechanics of it. If not then it will probably be a new keyboard jobby :( As for the right mouse button, it is likely that a spring or something similar has gone or is sticking which would cause the button not to pop back up proplery when pressed.
As for short term fixes... an external keyboard and mouse? Will set you back at tops £20 and would be a lot better as long as you don't move your laptop around too much!
Next time I would recommend buying from a company with a better reputation for quality (such as Novatech :P) next time as they tend not to suffer from problems like this :)
yeah, i'd suggest using a seperate keyboard/mouse on your laptop anyway - mine hasn't been the same since i poured a glass of wine in it.

Luke,
Sounds like one of the keyboard grid connections has got grubby or damaged with that combination. Gotta agree with Henz that the most hassle-free solution is to use an external keyboard and mouse which will be far cheaper than any repair components.
Note to Nox.. pour wine into girls, not keyboards. Just thought I'd mention it :D
ahhh nuts, I knew I was going wrong somewhere

Have a look on ebay, replacement keyboards are easily replaced and dont cost alot.
