The first thing to check is that the cable has not become loose, check both ends are secured, into the computer's graphics card and the back of the monitor.

If your computer has both onboard (intergrated into the motherboard) graphics and an add in AGP or PCI-e card then this onboard becomes disabled and you should ensure that the cable is plugged into the card, usually much lower than the rest of the connections on a tower case.

If you have recently changed your monitor, particularly after replacing a CRT (standard tube large bulky) or lowering the size of the a screen you may find that the Windows screen begins to load and then goes blank and displays a 'No Signal' error of some kind. In this case you have the resolution of the monitor setup too high and need to connect back your old screen enter VGA mode (F8 on boot and select from the list) and lower the resolution. In Windows XP this is done by the following:

Click 'Start' > 'Control Panel' > 'Display' (Or 'Appearance and Themes' then 'Display') > 'Settings' tab > 'Screen Resolution' > simply move the slider bar as far to the left as possible. Once you restart you can adjust the slider back according to what you prefer.

Also another thing that causes no display when booting to windows after changing form CRT to TFT is the refresh rate is to high. Allot of CRT's are designed to run at a high refresh rate (75hz or 85hz), most TFT's are designed to run at a low refresh rate (70hz). If you try outputting a refresh rate that is to high for the monitor you will receive a no signal or signal out of range error.

The refresh rate can be lowered in the advanced section of the display settings.

You can lower the refresh rate in safe mode or you can connect your old monitor, lower it and then connect the TFT.
