Not that I use it, but the missus does....

Anyone have any problem setting IE's homepage?

It's always worked for years. I have my own bookmarks.htm file that I always set as a start up page.

However since converting to FireFox, IE simply wont accept any other page as its homepage!

I go through the usual procedure, all seems well. However when I click on the HOME button, back to MSbloodyN it takes me!

Does IE get snotty when it's not the default browser?

(ps. this has happened after last 3 or so Windows installs, and since FireFox became default browser)

No response?

Could someone set another browser as their default for a short while and check this for me?

i have been using IE here as the deafult browser (only for our internal system, normally use firefox) and the homepage always works. i have swapped between IE and firefor as the deafult browser and nothing changed. the homepage always stays the same.

dare I say this, but have you tried changing it in the registry?

Never go near the registry!

Could it be a spybot SearchDestroy thing?

Dunno!

It's odd, as it seems to happen after fresh installs of Windows!

Must be something I'm doing, but I can't figure what! I haven't actually touched IE since the reinstall!

Wouldn't really bother me, but the wife prefers IE.

Not the biggest problem ever, just bugging me now!

tried tweakui? think you can set it in there, can't remember now! if its resetting sounds like some sort of spyware though (or worse)
