There is a rival company dropping the prices of their Athlon 64 x2s to almost half of what they currently are. i.e 3800 x2 for £100, 4600 x2 for £150

I was wondering if Novatech are following suit any time soon?

I did read a few weeks ago that AMD are drastically dropping the wholesale price of their CPU's

I'd prefer to buy from Novatech as this other companies customer service doesn't have a good rep. Plus the fact I can visit the store!! :P

Will probably have to wait till conroe is actually out before the prices drop.

Word on the street is that AMD will be bringing a price drop after the offcial release of Intel Conroe CPU.
I am not sure what the exact prices drops are but i believe we will follow suit once AMD have provided the updated pricing to our purchasing department.

Hopefully won't have to wait too long then :)

I know I wont be able to afford quad cores (hhttp://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3421) at the end of the year so this looks like the next best thing :P

I think i might pickup a 3800x2 + a board for hopefully £150!

I'd love to to conroe, but it's not as attractive when you realise you need to spend £600.

2GIG of RAM and just the 6400 alone cost's £320!

Here's the prices i saw.

because i think my cpu is broken, because one core is 8/10 time at 100%, even when doing nothing :?

Top tip.

If you are upgrading from a single to dual core, the CMOS needs to be reset.

Otherwise the Bios will only recognise one core. :P

The prices dropped so much I've even thought about buying one as a spare just in case
