Sexiest Cheapest Guitar for me... :)

Good Buy ^^?

At the moment i have a Yamaha ERG121, and as many of you know my friend Scratched it... and it says "VJ Sucks" on it -.-
my mum's gunna try calling a man that might be able to fix it, but he hasnt answered... ever... to us

well anyway
I'm interested in the pickups...
2 ESP LH-100 Pickups
HSH Pickups passive electronics (according to Ultimate Guitar, But i'm pretty sure it Said Humbucker on the box...)

Well, it's not my kind of style, but the ESP LTD range has a reputation for being amonsgt the better of the beginner guitars. I wouldn't buy any guitar without trying it out for real, though. Weight... cutaways, neck length, etc. etc. It would be a real shame to spend £260 on something you didn't like playing.

In fact, it would be a real shame to spend £260 on that guitar as they retail for £200 everywhere else !

Mac - I always price check guitar stuff at Fret Music as I've usually found them the cheapest and they know what they're talking about. They're selling it at £203, and they do student discounts, if you are one.

http://www.fretmusic.co.uk/esp-ltd-ax-50-electric-guitar-ax50-eg-pr-17508.html

However... did a quick search and it can be had for £186 at DV247 (another great guitar shop) if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks for them to get it in.

http://www.dv247.com/invt/46944/

That's quite a saving, but I really do suggest you try and hold one for real before buying for the reasons I mentioned earlier. That said, the cutaways look ok and it will last you a long time.. ESPs are good, so I doubt the balance is out or there is anything horrid going on with the neck, but they do have a rep. for not being kind to people.. how can I put this.. shorter than average ! 'Tis a long neck on that machine.

hmmm well im 5ft7 so i guess im not shorter than average?
I'll see if i can go check it out on Friday at Dawsons, then ill probs end up getting for my bday if i like it :)

Heh - anyway, £190 all in is a **** good price for an ESP.

Add a Marshall stack and you can annoy your family and neighbours for years to come !

They're not really the most helpful people are they...

Your call I guess. I wouldn't buy a guitar having never played it, but it looks like it's your only option if you must have this particular model.

Obviously Dawsons is close to you so I would be tempted to head on down there, find a guitar I liked and then price match it from other suppliers.

Dont buy a guitar online unless you plan on selling it on.. I used to work in a guitarshop called Guitartek and Ive been playing guitar for over a decade and I know what Im talking about with guitars ...so ner :D
Anyhoo, Guitartek sold loads of stuff online and I would have to inspect and perform a brief setup on every guitar and bass that went out. In the sub £350 market if you got a good playing guitar that didnt need a full setup and fret dress then you were **** lucky. And in some cases getting a fret dress and setup was the least of your worries..
I would seriously, seriously recommend you go and play the same guitar in as many shops as you can and bung your money on the best one. Otherwise you may be dissapointed with what you get through the post.

Seems pretty good to me

Reserve and CollectIf you'd rather come to the store & collect your order then please use our 'Reserve & Collect' service.

Here's how it works...You browse our web site just as if you were going to make an online purchase. Add any items you wish to collect from the store to the shopping basket as you go along. When you have all the items you want in your basket please go to the check out phase. Once here simply hit the 'Reserve & Collect' feature.

You will be asked to place a 10% deposit against this order. Please note, this deposit is not refundable under most circumstances*, so if you're not 100% sure that you want the item, then please don't use the 'Reserve & Collect' feature. The reason we do this is to stop people reserving items & then never coming to the store to collect them.

Once we receive your order then this is what happens...

If the items are in stock we will gather them together for you & either call you or email you to let you know they're OK to come & get. This will usually be within 2-3 working hours of receiving your order. If there are any problems with the order (like we can't find the item, or the item is damaged) we will call you or let you know by email. PLEASE DON'T COME TO COLLECT THE ITEMS UNTIL WE'VE CONFIRMED IT'S ALL OK TO COLLECT.
If the items are out of stock, we will order them for you & call you, or email you, as soon as the items are in stock & ready to collect.
If your order is partly in stock & partly out of stock then you have the option to either wait until everything is ready to collect, or you can pick up the items that are in stock & come back at a later date to collect the rest.

USEFUL TIP - If you want to use the "Reserve & Collect" service & our store is open at the time, then please phone through your "Reserve & Collect" request. That way, instead of waiting 2-3 hours for confirmation that it's OK to come & get your item, we can confirm availability & reserve the stock for you immediately. We're open Mon-Sat from 9.30am to 6pm, and 11am-5pm on Sundays and our phone number is 01483 456777.

Whatever option you decide to do, you will be asked to pay for the remaining balance of your order at the time you collect the items.

*When is a deposit refundable? If the items you order cannot be found, or are damaged in anyway, you will entitled to a full refund on your deposit. If the items you order need to be ordered in by Andertons & we are unable to fulfil the order within the agreed time frame, then you will be entitled to a refund.

That's their Reserve and Collect information, alot more helpful than dawsons to be honest...
Deposit is 10% which is £20.50, thats a WHOLE £65 cheaper than dawsons...
