I am not much of a techy, so excuse the terminology if it's incorrect.....lol. I seem to have a problem with graphics and / or Java when a Java applet is displayed. The displayed image is unreadable / unrecognizabele. My graphics driver is nVidia GeForce 6150, and according to the nVidia site, I have the latest one.

I thought I could remove Java, and start again, as i think I've done this previously, but Java doesn't show up in the add/remove programs list. If I click the Java icon in Windows control pane, the Java control panel opens, but the text is enreadable, and the images which may be there, unrecognizble.

On some of the Java applet displays, the small yell warning triangle appears by the window

Anyone got any ideas ??

Thx in advance.

Just download the latest runtime from here (http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp). It`ll overwrite any versions you have :)

Thx, but I've tried this, and it doesn't work. The Java installer starts, I then get a window which says "This software is already installed on your computer. Woud you like to reinstall it?". I then click yes, and get an error message "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed". It then goes back to the "This software is already installed......." question, and same happens again, so install will not proceed.

And you don`t have "J2SE Runtime Environment" in your Add/Remove programs list? Remember to tick checkbox "include updates"

Another method here (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301).

Thx, have tried this also, but no mention of Java or JRE in the Install Utility Cleanup list either.

If it doesn`t show up with MS installer util then I`m stumped.

Maybe post for help in the Java (http://forums.sun.com/index.jspa) forums ;)
