But have been putting it off since december as i heard you may be getting a new batch in febuary.

I was going to buy the x50 mv but was hoping that by holding on that little bit longer to save me upgrading sooner rather than later! Am looking to spend around £800!

So basically i would like to know if and when you are gettin any new laptops in?

Thanks, Mitch

Looking at the specs of it, it will game ok the 9600 will play all games at that resolution. Not got any experience with it myself but the specs say it will game fine.

No updates to the mid-range gaming laptop range at Nova.

You won't be able to play games from the last year or two at native resolution with all settings maxed. You will have to accept a compromise of quality vs. frame-rate with the 9600 which is roughly comparable to the ATI 3650 on offer on similar laptops.

To be utterly brutal about it, for a proper gaming laptop you'll have to double your budget, but the X50 will do an acceptable job. Can't see anything out there for the money that will top it in terms of performance.

Hi there,

Just don't buy a Dell M1710 - my recently research on them (and fixing a faulty graphics card), proves they are poorly designed internal. Ultimately fry.

I would guess that any cheap laptop that is suitable for gaming will be rather loud (fan-wise). Just a thought in case you ever wanted to use it in a library.

Cheers!
