hi guys i was wondering if anyone has a answer to this one lol
now its gonna sound dumb i know its most user fault ie mine but lol here we go.

well i installed the x64 xp pro after installing my 4800 x2 64bit cpu with a 64bit os makes sense so its installed after a few month i really started to c that it just wasnt supported enough ie drivers, games etc etc.

so i set up a dual boot with windows xp pro on another hard drive when i go to format the 64bit which is C: it tells me that the drives still inuse this is b4 windows actualy boots trhew command prompt.

any ideas how to get round this to clear the drive off just seems a waste ofa drive now

Its in use because its holding your boot info, so you cant format it as that would stop windows booting up. Best (read easiest!!) option would be to start again from scratch - use file & settings xfer wiz onto your 'data disk' then remove that disk, and boot up with the xp cd, format and reinstal onto your 'system disk' then plug your data disk back in and xfer wizard your stuff back.

The file and settings xfer wizard could come in pretty useful - last time I tried it, worked nicely, but I would not trust anything to get 100% of my data.

i think what ill do is just delete and format both drives and re partition
everybit of data i have is on my external hd anyway so its all good everything should be nice and fresh and run smoothly , but then it is windows lol
