Nich - have you (or Nova) installed the network/LAN drivers for the Ricochet ? Might be worth a check and/or digging out the Ricochet's driver disk.

I can't imagine you're having hardware problems with both wired and wireless network connections - sounds like your Windows network set-up is borked, but these things are very difficult to diagnose remotely.

Might be worth popping up a screenie of your network connections from the control panel for us ?

Is your operating system a 64bit?? Some wireless cards have issues, especially when it comes to 64bit vista though vista is sorting its self out very quickly (about time too!!)

Good point there from Andy.... if that's XP64 then start praying to the deity of your choice for compatibility... !

IT LIVES

The Belkin I bought from a well known online retailer

System is 32bit didnt fancy the compatability issues

Having tried everything, in terms of installing sotware, my 3 year old said "not in right" and lo he was right

the card when it sits in the motherboard is not flush with the rear of the case so when I secured it to the case it lifted out of the slot

removing screw and pushing the card back 2 mm it all started working, HURRAH

Still doesnt explain the cable coneection not working but I dont care

Cheers
