first post updated with ranked results. J2B leading :)
please post your RAM configuration and speeds, i wonder if this test is a pure CPU test or does it also consider combination of RAM and chipset.
Mine is on DDR3... kind of says 560Mhz but I think that translates to 1120Mhz which it seems to show on the bios at startup. timings were funny enough... 5/4/4/15-t1

nice results.
now you can really see the difference:
the difference between 4.4Ghz dual core and 3.4Ghz quad core comes is same as a 200Mhz increase in quad core clocks.

i got 9372 with my q9300 @2.5GHz, DDR2-800, P35
I probably need to learn how to overclock!!!
So I went to 400 x 9 and it runs. Then I tried this benchamrk and got this:

Now need to do some stability testing.

{SAS}TB, what speeds are your CPU at when you achieved 15k?? seems too high for a 24/7 overclock.
thanks for results people, seems that unlike other threads, a lot of quad core people started to benchmark :)
we can clearly see, it takes a dual core at 4.4Ghz watercooled with latest mobo to come close to a quad core at 3Ghz air cooled with a really old mobo.

No buddy 32bit xp this had made me very tempted to run the windows 7 64 bit disc ive had laying about here though i must admit. I upped the cpu to high priorty and got 12962. Cant be bothered to add the photo lol but im sure you all trust me.
Yeah, I've got 64bit disc staring right at me now. Should I go for it or will it stop me from playing Company of Heroes?

If it plays on vista it should be ok tbh. I am very tempted right now i must admit, but my xp is running just how i want it if im honest its spot on thats the only thing holding me back.
Well, I've now run it with the process priority at 'realtime' and it's improved slightly.

Yes, indeed, cost a few pennies at the time. I have an almost identical system sat next to it, except with an FX-55 and an X800PE...Bios is buggered, have been meaning to get round to ordering a new chip with bios on and use it as a server/media pc or something...
Those days are long gone, I'm afraid! Sat here wondering if I can manage with this system for another year!

i think ill rep AMD here, stock p2 940 was
11981 didnt take a screen of this so take my word for it :)
atm untill i get a better cooler im running it as stock but i've also run it @ 3.4, the 940 is EASILY capable of running at 3.4-6 24/7 so in that light these arent 'extreme' benching clocks, if i cba i could take it to 3.8 (i had my system at this 24/7 over jan-end of april) but i cba to mess about to much and its simple to up the multi with AOD so its a bit of fun.. @ 3.8 and oc ram i think the 940 could hit 17,000ish
@ 3.4
http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv318/I3R0K3N7FEET/Untitled-1.jpg
edit< oops, i forgot, i should've run cpuz alongside the screen... .. hmm well ill redo it on demand if i must :)
also wuyanxu maybe you should drop the 24/7 clocks rule and let this be an all out benching thread?

i just ran it @ 3.7ghz with 900mhz ram< same tmings and scored 18122, but i got BSOD before i could do anything ill run it again later... and post some screens, its pretty good considering its sitting just above a stock i7.

lol i5 without hyperthreading isn't doing very good.
i've lost the excel file, going to re-do it in the next few weeks, please bare with me
