Hey guys ( and girls ). Im building my own PC and i could use some advice. Im planning on buying the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard and the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600.
Thing is, is that i have no idea how to attach the CPU to the motherboard. Yes ive gone on the link that novatech supplied on PC building, but i havent the confidence to attach it myself, especially the heatsink part. Could you tell me if Novatech would apply the CPU and heatsink to the motherboard or if i have to do it myself.

One last question, does the CPU come with a fan and heatsink or do i have to buy these seperately. If so could you please give some links on the novatech website that correspond with the components i am going to purchase.

Thankyou.

if novatech did apply it then it might get damaged in delivery.

it is easy to insert the cpu in the motherboard

get mobo, get cpu, line up mobo and cpu (normally a little gold triangle in the corner of cpu and cpu mounting position.

then clocse the little lever right next to the cpu to clamp it in place.
apply a pea size of thermal paste, or if there is thermal material on the cpu hs/f just put the heat sink and fan onto the cpu and clip it down.

I think i may have a problem. A lot of forums on the internet are saying that you have to update the BIOS to make Conroe CPUs work. This is a problem because if i do have to update, i havent got any 775 CPUs hanging around to flash the BIOS with. Anyone know if the ones from novatech have the correct BIOS or if it needs updating. If i do need to update, how do i do it?

check on the asus web site, it may already be conroe compatible ,and may not require an update
