Trying to install windows after replacing the motherboard, get this trying to run the setup for 32 and 64 bit versions of vista.
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
....some random text on how to fix (didnt work)

Not really sure what to do, and certainly dont wanna take the system apart again...

when are you getting the message
are you booting direct from the dvd/cd to run the install or are you trying to install from windows

booting from the disk, get the same error while trying to boot windows. It happens just because i can select which drive to install to, but after the first language select screen

something i would try first is disconnection all drives apart from the one you want to install windows on to

tried that, im wondering if its because my memory is incompatable, but thats just a guess. Just done a bios update to see if that works

thats possible, i had some install issus that was done to memory timings and only from when installing vista 64bit never from them under xp32bit

Just need to get it setup and updated for when empire arrives tomorrow :D

An overclocker of your stature should be setting memory up manually in the bios anyway, Baggpuss. I would think it needs 2.0V at least to be stable at 4 GB.

only had 1 stick of ram in when i first started, and everything was at stock. Havent tried overclocking on this board yet, but shall try it later :) thanks for the info on the voltage tho, should make things easier later.
