Hello there. heres the problem;
My girlfriends got a ipod touch, she got it for christmas and has successfully put tunes on it and hasnt had a problem.
Then the other week she decided to put some more tunes on it and itunes crashed.
then a error came up and saying she couldnt sync it (dont have the error code as this point unfortunately)
She tried her old ipod and put the tunes on that without a problem. so it doesnt seem like itunes is actually the problem.
Then she took the ipod touch (one that crashed with itunes) and tried it on her sisters computer, it synced and the tunes went on. but if she tries to play them it skips them as if they arent there.
It also comes up on the computer now as a apple mobile device, when its a ipod :S
any ideas?

Oh shes also reinstalled itunes and now it says it isnt the correct software!

cheers lads

Hey eep. I had a friend that had a similar problem, and the only way he could resolve it was to restore the iPod back to the original settings, and then sync with iTunes again. There should be a restore option in the sync dialog box section when you're in iTunes with the iPod plugged in. If that doesn't pop up, you can force the iPod into recovery mode by pressing and holding down the "home" and power buttons for 10 seconds. A little cable icon will appear on the iPod and iTunes will force a restore to sort it.

Hope this helps :)

You can try ipodaid (http://www.softsea.com/review/iPodAid-iPod-To-Computer-Transfer.html), with this, you can transfer files from iPod to any computer, and sync iPod playlists back to your iTunes at the same time.

i had similar problems with my touch a week ago. all the problems i had with it were down to the new version of zone alarm i installed a few weeks ago, if your running zone alarm on the system close it down and it should sync ok.

if your not running zone alarm try uninstalling all apple software from the pc (itunes, quicktime, bonjor mobile device support and apple softwqare update) then download and install the latest version of itunes. you might have to restore the ipod firmware as well.
