So here it is the X55MV - the long awaited replacment for the X50 - We have up'ed the performance of the graphics and they are superb for a notebook at this price point. The display is the same res but has a sharper look thanks to the progression of TFT technology. The chipset is exactly the same as is the connectivity options so we still have Firewire & HDMi but we now have a 2.0MP Webcam and a finger print scanner thrown in for free. It has an option for 7200rpm HDD or SSD as well as being spec'd with Blu Ray as standard in the Pro verion (can be upgraded in the standard).

The stock is going to be here at the end of the month and we have only got 200 units coming in for our first batch which is not much for Novatech. The product will be live on the site by the end of the day but the best bit of all is the price - As "Gibbo" would say "How ja feel about that then".

its a very nice machine but we're all waiting for the GTX280M machines :)
(well maybe not all)
by the way I know the announcement is recent, but will the X80R Pro (with an 8800m gtx) take clevo's new GTX280M?
smaller die size could ensure the older cooling system is sufficient.

Hi

We will be releasing the 280M but it won't be on the X80R - It will be on the
X80MV

Specs should be on the site tomorrow

wow, thanks for the info Amy
thats actually a quick release considering how recently the card was launched.

I was also thinking along the upgrade path, as my x80r is still in great condition
I suppose its down to the size/connector/cooling requirements of the new part

again thanks for letting me know
