hi, my pc is getting on for 2 years old now and i was thinking of an upgrade :D , anyway im hoping to replace the motherboard, processor and graphics card when i heard about the linking two graphics cards together.

My question :
i was hoping to use an x1300
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... x13512&P=1 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?sap-x13512&P=1)

BUT is this graphics card one of the 'crossfire' cards that can be used in conjunction with another x1300 AND if two will work together will they work in this motherboard:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... nsp%20&P=1 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?asu-a8nsp%20&P=1)

thanks in advance to any response 8)

i believe so, check ATI's website's crossfire section first to just confirm
no,those cards wont work on that SLI board, because SLI and crossfire require different boards.

Whats your spec that you are wanting at the moment, and how much are you willing to spend.
maybe we can help you out with some choices

Ahhh, thats what i wanted to check to see if SLI and Crossfire were different,

My current spec is:
AMD Athlon 3200+ (2.2GHz)
1Gb RAM
80 Gig HDD
Motherboard is an asrock K7S8XE

i was hoping to buy the motherboard and graphics card stated and this processor http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... AMD-X238++ (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?AMD-X238++)

i dont really want to spend much more than £300

so would http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... ASU-A8R32M (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ASU-A8R32M) be a better buy?

the first one cant do sli or crossfire, while the second mobo does crossfire.
and performs really well, comparable to any other 939skt mobo on the market
