Can someone please help with this query. My dad is running XP - he has an unusual icon in the notification area (near the clock). It consists of a white triangle, pointing to the right. When he hovers the mouse over it, he sees 'On Screen Display'. If he clicks it, the message comes up 'OnScreenDisplayPortThisNameDontUse'. Does anyone know what this is, what it does, and is it of any use (or detriment!) to the system?

Many thanks in advance

I'm not sure that he will be able to provide a screenshot of this, it would appear very small on any screenshot. The way he described the icon is this: imagine a square divided into 4 with 2 diagonal lines. The resulting left hand segment is white, the other segments are blank.

hmm i just googled that phrase (OnScreenDisplayPortThisNameDontUse) and only got 2 hits. This thread and a chinese/japanese post somewhere, tried to translate and got a load of rubbish about virus/reformat etc and not being able to shut down.
