Hi, i bought an Icon 3000 system today, however when i got it home and tried to install windows it appears the BIOS is not detecting the SATA hard drive (I cant install windows)

I have checked all the cables all plugged in ok

Anyone got any ideas on what may be wrong with this PC

Have you installed the SATA drivers via floppy disk?

Novatech dont seem to provide much support on this especially since your system probably doesnt have a floppy drive.

The problem is windows XP setup does not support SATA drives and you must install SATA drivers in the first part of setup where it says press F6 to install additional SCSI and RAID drivers. I have only been able to do this with a floppy disk although apparently you can slipstream the drivers into a winxp install disk using Nlite, and if you have a usb flash drive supported then you can use this.

However with my isys pro I installed the drivers in setup and still windows XP setup does not see the disk and gives me a blue screen stop error.

Tech support said this was a memory failure, its not, setup jsut cant see the hard disk to install windows on.

You might solve your problem by installing the drivers, you will find a program to put them on a floppy disk on your motherboard CD. My problem I am not sure about.
