Small problem with my laptop - freezes

Hiya, i've got a 2.0ghz M novatech laptop with the 9700 gfx card and 1gb of ram. When playing games i get small screen freezes every 30 seconds or so which is pretty annoying. any ideas on the problem? - I have tried both ati and omega drivers on the card, both resulting in the same problem.

Try closing down/terminating all non-vital processes from the task manager and then see if you still get freezes - it might be some program running in the background (like anti-virus, etc).

yeah i have tried that but it makes no difference. my laptop does get rather hot though, so could it be an overheating problem?
