its always a slow and awkward process dismounting usb memory sticks and external hard disks with the little green icon on the task bar when you want to disconnect this items from the PC
Does anyone know of an app that lets you do this quicker with a keyboard shortcut?

How about just yonking it out without going through the remove device malarky?
I do that with my USB mem drive as I'm quite lazy sometimes :P
Have to admit, I do exactly the same...

as long as your sure the unit has stopped being used by the pc you can pull out. However if you have information on it you want to keep then don't.

There's a process to dismount them?? ;o) lol
Mine is:
1) Realise i am late for something
2) Tug the USB stick out pronto
3) When at destination, check the connection to make sure I haven't malleted it
4) Offer quick words of thanks and relief and promise I'll do it properly next time
5) refer to step 1 and continue.......
