Most of the Hiper (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/products/a559x1y0z1p0s0n0m272) power supplies have a 4 or 5 way switch on the back of them. There is no mention of this switch in the manual. The switch is to control the fan speed.

I purcahsed the Hiper Type-R 480Watt 14db BLACK ATX http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?HYP-4M480 but im not convinced its a silent as it say it is.

After turning all my fans of(disconnecting them) including my CPU fan, this is still the loudest fan, louder than my nexus 19dba processor fan which is supposed to be louder.

Am I doing something wrong, I couldnt find the switch to lower the fan speed(is there one?)

Thanks

The Hiper R Type Series PSU do not have in built manual fan control. The 120mm FAN is actively controlled by in built thermal controller. Depending on how warm the PSU is the fan will react automatically to cool PSU.
