My X2 4400+ has given stirling service since last November when I picked it up.
Of late though I have not always been getting my modem at bootup and on some occasions my scanner would fail. A reboot usually cured the problems.
After investigation the only similarity was that they are both plugged into the same Belkin 4 port USB PCI card alongside my camera docks which don't get used that often.
I checked the installation of the card which seemed fine and secure but I thought I might as well move the card up a slot just to be on the safe side and I have not had a problem since.
In fact the whole PC seems to be more responsive and bootup times have reduced.
I've not been inside the PC since last November when I removed the 56k modem card and installed the 4 port hub in it's slot.
Strange !
