Hi,

first post so go easy on me plz :)

Im looking for a new headset, pref £40-50 but could strech to £70-80 if needed. Im a high skill cod4 player (pre-ivite), so the headset is mostly for gaming. It needs to have a good quality mic for vent, comfy and good quality sound (stereo or more).

Im looking at either the SpeedLink Medusa, however aparentely SL built quality isnt good, (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-MEDUSB)
- for some reason called novatech on this site :S

or the steel series sibera, which for some reason novatech dont sell?

im also interested in the logitech G35: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?LOG-981117
does anyone here know if there gonna be as good as there meant to be, or when there due in stock?

im also open to other suggestions - has anyone here got a creative fataility?
atm ive got the razer PIRANHA, however after a long gaming session they are incredibly painfull on my ears - and the sound quality isnt that great either.

so if anyone has any recommendations it would bee good plz :)

cheers in advance

Iv got a set of steel series sibera in white and there not bad really. I wouldnt mind a decent set of Sennheiser 555's and a clip on mic though.

Sennheiser have probably been the best set of gaming headsets I've used. They are handsome looking and are very light and comfortable to wear. The sound quality is immaculate. I used to use logitech and can say that they're headsets have good quality however they can hinder comfort after prolonged hours of wearing.

hmm, how comfy are those? and whats the sound quality like?

because i just saw these: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3359786/SPEEDLINK-SL-8781-Medusa-Stereo-Headset/ProductReviews.html?add=3359786

for £15 they look like a bargin, stereo sound only tho - but that is all the creatives are and these are half the price. from what ive read they are more comfy as well.
^probably break twice as often tho lol

Im very tempted to to get a pair of these (for only £15) - then maybe get a G35 depending on reviews when more people have them :)

As for the senheisers 350, they look tempting but are very dear. I dnt think i would get along with other versions because im not a fan of on-ear. Ive read the built quality is good but they sound quality isnt? - only stereo and little bass?

dno, not sure atm but the £15 medusa is very tempting

Speedlink Medusa - absolutely terrible, I had a set and they were uncomfortable and then they broke. Replaced with a set of Senny HD595 and a clip on mic, they are open cans but apparently there`s no feedback to other folk ... dead comfy but I`ve had them a while now, there may be better updated ones but to tellyou the truth, they`re that good I just don`t bother looking at what`s out there any more.

I much much prefer USB headsets, mine is a Creative HS-950, its OK, sound is good but could be more comfortable, wouldn't massively reccomend it.

wait for logitech g35 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/headsets_microphones/devices/5095&cl=us,en), should be out very very soon

novatech have confirmed they should have them as well

indeed, reading through old posts it sounds like their going to get the firs load in around may. This is why im tempted to get the £15 modusa untill these come out.

not sure atm

I love my original Meds (not USB) and I have only replaced them once in 3 years because I knocked them off the desk and they broke. Works great in games or music. If I was to get another headset, it would be the Med Home version (updated version of mine with the amp effort).

I use a Plantronics USB headset. Mic is great and sound quality's pretty good. Good bass and sound clarity. I'm guessing their newer headsets will be pretty good also.

Gamecom 777 for 5.1
Gamecom 377 for stereo

Must say I've got a set of Speedlink Medusa 5.1s and they are **** uncomfortable... sticking them out till they break though as I paid a fair bit for em :) Would advise anyone to stay away from em lol.
