White band runs across screen before XP

Hi,
I wonder if anybody can help.
I have just done a BIOS update on my board and everything appears to be working ok!!
However when I start the pc, and just before the Windows XP logo appears, I get a white band going from left to right (like something is loading up). Once this reaches the right, the system then loads Windows.
This never happened before the BIOS update.
Does anyone know what this is and how to cure it?

It's nothing to worry about, just normal booting :)
