This is the best film ever made bar none ... I saw it on opening day and I still watch it. I even have it on video when it showed a bit blue sky on on the ITV Première which was edited out for DVD later on ;)

I never warmed to Total Recall "The Movie" despite it being directed by Paul Verhoeven (He of Robocop and Starship Troopers fame), and prefered Ridley Scott's rendering of Philip K. ****'s renamed "BladeRunner". I suspect a more subtle actor than Arnie (Bless him!) could have made more of it. The image of his bulging eyes while gasping for air is unforgettable, of course.

Phil **** never made much money from his writing, and died before Bladerunner was released. I recently reread some of ****'s obscure 50s small town America novels, which are (IMO) undiscovered masterpieces. The book I would love to see get a good treatment is Algis Budry's "Rogue Moon" which has a bafflingly complex Sci-Fi theme within a seemingly normal and believable 50s American setting. Almost like Raymond Chandler does Sci-Fi. Space Opera is fine, but characters you care about is the key of good writing.

God, why does the forum software censor d-i-c-k and a-r-s-e-nal ? lol

I have to disagree with GeordiosNumeroUno on Total Recall.

Did Arnold ever play a better role than when Terminator met Jesus?

Somehow the Spanish sub-titles and poor quality add to the experience..."Your robes, give them to me..."

Oh, yea heathen! Everyone knows the best sci-fi film ever made is 'This Island Earth' featuring the mighty INTERROSSITER! Which is described here:

and does not mean you're a fan of the late star of Rising Damp...;)

HaHa, that's the one with the funny looking blonde guys with the suspiciously high foreheads...

Hard to top "Forbidden Planet" of course. It's got everything, even a very young Leslie Nielsen as Commander Adams...:p

Anne Frances as Doctor Morbius' alluring young daughter, Alta, who has NEVER seen a young man...

Alta (Swimming): "Come in!"
Commander Adams: "I didn't bring my bathing suit..."
Alta: "What's a bathing suit?"
Commander Adams: "Ha, ha...MURDER!"

I though arnie was better in Predator, but I like all arnie films anyway.

lol "This Island Earth" is a terrible movie. Torture watching it. What was with those clear plastic helmet things? DIdn't do much to cover up their gigantic foreheads.

Ever watched "Mystery Science Theater 3000 - The Movie"? They do pretty funny dubbing to This Island Earth in it.

OMG WeeMan411, MST3K is SO funny. I've just watched a dozen on the bounce!

Typically ill-makingly stupid:

I've seen that before...very funny :-) And it was the same line you quoted that made me chuckle the most.
