Is it me or has the 10 page topic discussing the Q321 lip-sync issues disappeared?

No it isn't just you. I can't find it either. I presume they are hoping we will get bored and give up and then they can pretend there isn't a problem.

Only 8 people have replied to Novatech's request for information thread... so I presume there are very few of us... I find this difficult to believe as the lip sync is so bad and so annoying.

It is looking a bit sinister. As a recent purchaser, I noticed the lipsync problem immediately and trawling the net soon led me to the original thread.

Satisfied that the situation was in hand, I decided to keep the set and wait for the fix which seemed to be imminent. I am now wondering if I did the right thing, as I can only think of one reason for the deletion of the thread and the absence of any response from Novatech, and it's not good news.

I wonder if there are many people lurking as I was and just awaiting developments? I would urge them to take the plunge and make their views known! I admit I haven't yet done the survey, but if someone from Novatech can assure me I won't be wasting my time I will happily do so.

Like jamesd I decided to wait for the fix, indicated in the original thread. My perceptions were similar to others who replied to the survey so I didn't complete the questionnaire. I'm still within the 28 days return period but I have had no reply from Customer Services to the 2 emails I have sent asking for details of how to return the faulty set at Novatech's cost.
Incidentally I naively bought the set on the strength of 14 glowing reviews on the product page - no mention of lip-sync faults there!!! I wonder who wrote them? Now, however, there are no reviews for the product, and when I tried to add mine, I got the message "Sorry you cannot add a review unless you have bought this product from us"

Novatech - you suck!!!!

For what it's worth (round about £615 according to my credit card bill...) I emailed Novatech support not long after receiving my set, stating that I would return it if a fix was not forthcoming, but I was prepared to wait some weeks as, understandably going off other forum posts, this was not going to be a "quick fix".

I did this because waiting this period of time would obviously put me outside the 28 day return period - a bit of a catch-22. Fine, said Novatech, we'll note your account record accordingly.

Since then, the drums have been silenced, a follow-up email to Novatech has gone unanswered, and I'm left wondering if I'll ever get to the bottom of this.

Suffice it to say that what started out as an annoyance is now being elevated into bemusement and anger; the problem may not have gotten any worse, but the total lack of even a holding statement baits me.

I suggest that anyone who wants to return their TV and has problems refers to their local Trading Standards with regard to the Sale of Goods Acts - http://www.stockport.gov.uk/content/business/tradingstandards/consumeradvice/consumerrights/yourrightswhenbuyinggoods?a=5441 gives a summary, part of which states that blaming the manufacturer is not an excuse.

I also have been waiting for an update on the "fix", I posted a comment in the original thread (which has disappeared) within days of taking delivery, I wonder how many others around the country are still waiting for the "fix", We are well overdue for an update from Novatech, this lipsync problem will not go away and if anything the last few days it has been worse but again mainly on the BBC channels. Why has the original thread been removed ?, I can only guess but cannot state that here.

Hi All,

KPKPKP here, or at least that is my login on the AV Forums, first of all sorry for not posting on here as it is our own forum but there were some threads on here that we lost and the link I set at the top for updates has disappeared with the thread.

The reason I have been updating the thread on the AVForums is simply because more Novatech customers use that thread than the one on here, so strange as it may seem it is the best place to view the information. The other plus point with the AV Forum thread is there are so many users on there that the level of support and expertise on there is the biggest I have seen on any thread, there are not only Hyundai staff posting on there but also the engineers from the Hyundai warranty company, myself (Novatech's Purchasing & Product Manager) and lots of people from the AV Industry itself.

Just to give an update on the lip-sync issue.

We & Hyundai are still looking into this, the main issue is it is not constant for everyone and trying to drill down to find out why it happens takes a very large amount of research - which takes time, plus once we discover something new we then have to pass it on the engineers at Hyundai in Taiwan - this also takes time.

I would like to point you all to a statement on the BBCs website which is worth reading. - http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/digital_ ... ml#picsync (http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/digital_tv/freeview_troubleshooting6.shtml#picsync)

What they are getting at is that all digital TV signals are sent out with a thing called pre-delay - this where the sound is sent slightly behind the video as it takes longer for a TV to process video than sound. By the time the video processing is finished the sound should arrive giving a perfect match. The issue seams to be that somewhere along the line the synchronisation is dropping out. Now this is obviously that big a problem for the BBC they have put a statement on their website about it. We are going one step further by working with both the BBC and Hyundai with the ideal outcome being a user defined pre-delay that can be adjusted to suit signal strength and indeed length of aerial cable and quality of aerial cable can affect it.

Please look on AV Forums for further updates at . . .

As this as I said is the collective point of information from all parties and has a wealth of AV knowledge from its user base.
