I'm sorry, I can't recomend any non-branded PSU, and that branding is limited...
Can you stretch a little further? something along the lines of this:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... ?HYP-4M530 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?HYP-4M530)
though any decent brand is fine. (that said hiper just got slated recently)

Sorry for double posting but could you give me your opinion on this one http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=21743093481&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=109466 and this one http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=21742848457&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=89518
Wattage depends on the company. I have a PCP&C PSU - on the label, its 510W, its marketted as a 510W PSU. then you find out thats continuous, and the peak is 650W. Then you find out this was recorded at something like 60 degrees C. 'Cheap' manufacturers will tell you their peak right off, those 600W - thats peak value, its also probably recorded at 25 degrees, or lower, when efficiency is much greater, so all of a sudden your 600w psu, at operating temps, is capable of around 300w, hence... problems.
If you're still with me - well done lol.

I beg to differ with you there Nox
I run the X pro 460w, and have done succesfully since Novatech first sold it nearly 18months ago or so.
I know of one of these failing only once, and that was dubious as on the one hand, a technician looked at the guys setup and claimed a faulty USB wire caused the thing to spike and blow when the guy used his front usb, and the guy who built thinks it likely to have been one that got past QC when it shouldn't have.
But on the whole, its not let me down yet.
Its only now coming in as a cheap* psu, because it has no PCI-e vga card power plugs and isn't really suited for newer P4 and A64 boards. For an older board it will cope with no problems.
edit
ok, although i think this psu would be fine, its not going to be any good, as you have obviously not done your research JDowall.
The MSI RD480 (RD480 NEO2 to give it its full title), is a 24pin atx 2 board, and like i said before, the X-pro is only good for ATX1 and 1.1 boards.

Internal I/O Connectors
- ATX 24-Pin power connector
- 8-pin ATX 12V power connector
- 4-pin GPU power connector
- CPU / System / Power FAN connectors
- CD-In connector
- Front panel connector
- Front panel audio connector
- 1 x Floppy disk drive connector
- 4 x Serial ATA connectors
- 2 x ATA133 HD connectors
- 2 x IEEE 1394 connectors support additional 2 ports
- 2 x USB 2.0 connectors support additional 4 ports
- Chassis intrusion switch connector
- IrDA infrared module header
- Clear CMOS Jumper
I'm afraid you need to look for something that is ATX2, JD.

sigh, wrong way round, meant the x pro - its more expensive and lower rating - ie its being measured more in line with the well known manufacturers.
Thanks Chewie :) should of double check my post.

Tho... I would probably go for this one if I were spending around £20 on the PSU:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... -3s350&P=4 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?hyp-3s350&P=4)
its Hiper atleast, but as its powering my entire PC... But bearing in mind the amount you're looking at spending, you'll be spending £5+ postage on a psu! which may be better off going local and collection if possible, and an upgrade.
but Chewie has the above one, can't argue with first hand experience :)

Nox, see my edited post bud, he can't use it. Not without an adaptor.
ah, and nor did I :D
most 24 pin mobos do run ok with a 20 pin psu though i would not recommend it, and nor do manufacturers, atleast now anyway. I used to run my dfi lanparty sli-d with a 20 pin psu, and i'd forgotten to connect a floppy power connector too! was fine :) but once I read my mistake, I rectified it pretty rapidly.
