View Full Version : Vista RC1 x64 on the Crossfire 3400?

When attempting to install Vista x64 on my Crossfire 3400 (MiTac 8355H - NNB-203), I get an error 0xC0000225 as soon as Windows copies the files to the hard drive. Googling this error suggests it's that the problem is that the computer is not ACPI (when Vista requires ACPI), but I know that the computer is ACPI-compatible, and indeed Vista x86 works fine. Updating to the latest MiTac BIOS doesn't help (but does give me a lovely "NOT FOR RESALE" screen for a split-second before prompting for my BIOS password).

Does anyone here know whether this is a problem isolated to me, or whether it is specific to the whole line? Is it a Microsoft issue, a Novatech issue, or a MiTac issue? Will I get the best advice here, from terminally slow MiTac support, or from filing another bug port with MS?

Cheers,

Ed
