Watched this today, enjoyed it but it wasn`t what I`d call unmissable. I`m sure I`ve seen this billed as the new Harry Potter ensemble rival ... no way is it!

TBH, I'm glad I didn't watch it... it looked like a load of **** to me! A girl mate asked me to download it for her so she could watch it, she said it was good.. but I thought it looked terrible so I went off with the lads and had a bit of a footie sesh for two hours! :p

it's buffy on steroids

but not as good as buffy on steroids should be

think buffy + crossroads ( the tv soap as seen here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossroads_(TV_series)) for anyone under 30 )

very very poor

This film sucks. If you want my opinion, read the books instead!

The book for the film is very good, and I can't say what I can say about the film will be that reliable as I only went to watch it once and I was suffering from the night before and a horrible illness! I think people have gotten too into the film though, which is a pity, and they usually end up being the freaky fanatics who only know the story from the film...which is creepy in itself. As for it being anything like Buffy, I highly disagree!

It's not the greatest film, the acting was dodgy but I enjoyed it. Light entertainment I guess.

UTTER TRIPE!

For narrow minded little girls and their fantasy ideal of some whimsical idea of a forbidden romance.. I even got a dig in the ribs for falling asleep 10 minutes in.

I don't hold it against you though girls.

Although, I have to say there's something about Kristen Stewart, that makes me want to do unmentionable things.

oh...my...god.... I love the books and the film but THAT is extreme! I think some people may be a little TOO obsessed with Twilight? LOL

Didn't know too much about this when I saw the film but heard it was about some Vampires. So I sat there waiting for the action to start. And waited. And waited. And waited...
I'd say this really isn't a bloke's film, but is ok within it's own context - and did actually have *some* action in it at the end (I understand that things get better in that department as the books progress).

i think everyone who admits to liking this.. deserves bad rep xD .. tbh i can understand from a girls POV how they would like the story.. but from a guys point of view.. its complete naff..this is the kinda of.. girls with their heads in the clouds fantasy, the equivalent to guys reading more 'manly fantasy' such as david gemmel and terry brooks but from an unbiased opinion.. twilight is rubbish regardless and there are far superior stories that deserve the screen time but i guess twilight got there as too many girls started screaming i guess... and girls who scream seem to always get what they want.. not what they deserve

I don't mean to be rude, but to all those people that are in love with Twilight, what stone hit you in the head? The film is great but it's not amazing... I seriously don't know understand as to why so many people love it, I mean come on lol... it's not the first vampire film and I'm pretty sure that if I was a girl and some guy was flying around in my room I'd be pretty freaked out... what's the catch?

Just wanna say whoever got those tats done, got mugged off big time... they look 100% pure $%!!#@@@!, I would never go out in public

You'd have to read the books to understand :)

My girlfriend is obsessed with it. Read all the books twice over. She bums it so much

I think she loves Edward more than me!

Charlotte
03-08-2009, 09:23 AM
Lol, can't blame her, Edward is awesome :)
The film is excellent but I can see why some people don't like it. It doesnt have all the action you'd expect from a Vampire film, but the books are just brilliant.

I just don't get it, the trailer at no point made me want to watch it and all this hype also has not made me want to watch it. Just no interest in it whatsoever and I can't understand the hype either.

the films ok - as a lovely dovey flick if you like that sorta thing. I prefer the books tbh!

Meh, the film was alright I guess - Nothing special. I've never read the books either - I was aware of the film before I even knew it was based on a book.

In response to the Buffy comments, I much prefer the Buffy TV series to the Twilight film - Though I'm not sure they're comparable bar the fact that they both have vampires in them. Twilight is much more serious where Buffy is a fun, low budget, monster-of-the-week type deal. Currently working my way through all seasons of Buffy though, half way through season 3, loving it!

Vampire books better than Twilight:

Sookie Stackhouse novels (now on TV as True Blood)
The Anita Blake : Vampire Hunter series of novels (only for over 18's though)
Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles.
Any other book written about Vampires ever...
