Yes AGP has plenty of life in it, i know some people won't have that. This was tested with a 7900GTX, a top end card in PCI-E 4x (less than half AGP 8x bandwidth).
If you are buying this board you don't buy them cards anyway, so this board will last you a good 3 years if you want it to  and will make the cheapest Core2Duo upgrade there can be 8)

I was looking at that over the weekend! and then checked novatechs website - didn't get further as I saw how much raptor 150's have come down to!

Maybe these forums should have a product suggestion section.

I think it's a perfect cheap board. The sort of thing novatech would put in their range and bundles ;)

good for upgrades too - run ddr on an allendale/conroe sounds good to me!

so does that mean that you can run a set of ddr and a set of ddr2 memory, or would the chipset chose what memory to use according to what processor you have installed

No idea about at the same time, but unlikely.

surely if novatech did sell these then there would be people buying them and getting confused about which memory to put in

You can put either in. You can't use both at the same time though.
It would say that in the product description anyway ;)

how many people read manuals anyway

I meant in the novatech description. You must have read something to know it can run ddr1 and ddr2...Anyway people building systems should question these things before buying. I can't really see someone buying 2gig of DDR and 2gig of DDR2. Might aswell argue someone buying a asus board could buy the wrong memory.

Well here's something for the AGP restricted folks, if they read this. The Gainward 7800GS 512mb silent that novatech sells, apparently, this particular model of 7800, is in fact a 7900gtx in AGP format.

But apparently there's only 1500 of em worldwide. And it looks like novatech has 13 of em.

But need to check, as theres a 7800GS that has just 20 pipes, and the 7800GS that has 24 pipes. Found it at Toms, when they did an article yesterday/today, was last in the line up of PCI-e/AGP cards for price ranges.

I know OC have some of both types (which is where i got the 1500 info from, so could be more could be less) but they don't list stock levels like Novatech do.

You'll have trouble tweaking your cpu at all if you have no mobo, ram, or gfx card.

You know i'm right.

Barton -> Core2 upgrade cost £200, (would have been 170 if i got the E6300)

You know i'm right :)
