i changed my pc case yesterday to a jeantech appolo case, didn't turn it on after i had finished the change over as it was at about 2 in the morning and i was pretty tired, but anyway when i turned it on this morning the bios displayed two error messages:
1)reading error. defaults will be used... (this is just after the bios displays scanning ide drives)
2)no array defined

i also installed a new dvd whilst i had the pc in pieces, could this be the problem?

thanks for any help

look at the back on the dvd drive and the other drive/s installed, one needs to be master and one needs to be slave

this drive is the third one on the system and its has been put on cable select as have the other 2, but it is on a different cable and it is on the second outlet on this cable (because it is not long enough, i am going to buy a longer one though.)will this make any difference and should i also put the new drive on slave as well.

thanks

think you need to go into your bios and set everything up again - sounds like it has lost all the info and is using standard guesses, ie without raid setup.
