Oh man...The 4970 price drop was a temporary sale? Aww...I hoped it was an actual price drop...
Now I'll have to pick cheaper parts for when the price goes back up ._.

Go for two 4770's in crossfire, blows a single 4970 out of the water and is a cheaper option i believe. They also will hold there own against a GTX280, not bad at £75 a pop.

Hi there

OK check this out:-

XFX ATI Radeon 4890 1024MB GDDR5 (PCI-Express) Graphics Card - Retail

http://images.novatech.co.uk/ev-xfx-48902.jpg

The ATI Radeon 4890 graphics card is ATI's new single core flagship graphics card. Based on the 4870 architecture this card features a new GPU and much faster GDDR5 memory. Clocking in at 850MHz core speed and 3900MHz out of the box this card is anywhere between 10-15% faster than the previous 4870 graphics card. In our own testing we found these cards to perform extremely well but things start to get really exciting when you use the supplied ATI Overdrive utility within the catalyst drivers. Early rumous have seen cards reaching insane speeds as high as 1000MHz core and 4800MHz memory. In our own testing we found the cards remained stable upto 990MHz core and 4600MHz memory which results in nearly 30% performance improvement over the 4870 cards and performance was incredibly close and sometimes matching GTX 285 performance levels. Now Novatech does not guarantee that these cards will overclock the same for everyone but it seems safe to say cards should happily run at 950MHz core area and 4400MHz memory. Needless to say ATI have a winner on their hands with the 4890 graphics cards.

Features
- ATI Radeon HD 4890 GPU @ 850MHz
- 1024MB GDDR5 Memory @ 3900MHz

- PCI Express 2.0 support
- ATI CrossFireX Multi-GPU Technology
- Microsoft DirectX 10.1 support
- Shader Model 4.1

- Unified Video Decoder 2 (UVD) for Blu-ray and HD Video
- Built-in HDMI with 7.1 surround sound support

Hi there

Only if ATI do a price drop, our XFX price is only whilst stock last, we manage to get our hands on a load of stock at well below distribution prices hence the price, our re-buy is a good £20 more so unless ATI or XFX do an official price drop new stock will be higher. So it could go either way....

Some cracking reviews:
Corsair MLC Solid State Drive @ Legit reviews (http://www.legitreviews.com/article/949/1/)
Patriot Viper DDR3 PC3-12800C8 @ OC3D (http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews.php?/memory/patriot_6gb_ddr3_pc3-12800_1600mhz_viper_series_low_latency_kit/1)

Only thing to note is the Patriot modules are dual height with those blue heatsinks, so make sure you have clearance around your CPU cooler.
