I was going to buy the £60 odd novatech 512mb ram 1600 pro when all of a sudden they took it off the market so now i'm stuck with a problem as there are so many x1600 graphics cards on novatech and ebuyer.com so i dont really mind what one i get as long as it costs around £70 im not sure if i should go for more a card with more memory or an xt or this 256mb already overclocked one http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=22042061055&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=105307 thanks in advance
I'd get that overclocked one. It should be the most powerful X1600 available if it is the XT and overclocked.

You should see a better performance increase with faster cores and memory than with more memory. The memory is just used for storing the textures (in games anyway) for the models, so is less important than the speed of the core and memory.

This is the same confusion that happened with the nvidia 66 series, there was the GT with 128mb and the normal with 256mb, the gt performed better because it had a faster core/memory.
Go with the model with the fastest core/memory, dont let high numbers fool you when they talk about memory in mb's
