View Full Version : Cursor with an apparent mind of its own

I purchased a X15 GS T8100 2GB 200GB NV VGA back in December (Order code NNB-658VP and Order number 4270963). I am not sure but I think the cursor may either be a little too sensitive or alternatively has a mind of its own.

I could be typing some text and suddenly the cursor would be somewhere completely differnt on the page and there is no apparent pattern - sometimes it could be at the beginning a a line some three or four paragraphs above where it should be, sometimes it could be in the middle of a 'randomly selected' word.

Is it simply due to my typing skills (or lack of) accidentally hitting some obscure keyboard shortcut or do I have some control over this with a Control Panel setting - or does my machine simply have a fault??

I'd be grateful for some assistance please.

(Incidentally, in the course of typing this, I have had a jumping cursor on FOUR separate occasions)!

This usually happens when you accidently touch the touchpad with your arm or something. I used to experience this with my X80R until I realised what was happening and altered my typing style appropriately. There might be a function button which you could use to turn off the touchpad and sometimes there is even options in the touchpad software to do this automatically when typing.

Not much good when you're typing though.

This is becoming a real problem and never happens with my PC keyboard. I'm careful to avoid touching other keys or the pad. My one finger typing technique is ideal for this lol but I still have problems
