Default Display goes into Power Saving mode and locks the PC

    Hello there

I bought a Delta PC from you about two weeks ago. I also bought an LG E2250V 22" display.

Every so often the display goes blank whilst I am working or watching a YouTube video. After I tap the keyboard I get a message saying "DVI -D Power Saving Mode". The PC fails to respond to keyboard or mouse and I have to rebout the computer - very annoying!

I have set both Power Saving modes to 'never'.

I have installed the drivers for the LG display.

Any idea what could be wrong?

    Thanks

It's a driver problem when the PC goes to sleep with some graphics cards

Disable sleep mode completely and put power mode into "performance"

    see if that fixes

My LG display does the same thing after 30 minutes or so, but all I have to so is move the mouse. I suggest going into the control panel and disabling the power save functions, as the above post says.

Default Problem NOT solved - display still locking

Hello all - I have tried disabling all the power saving settings or setting them to 'never'. Still the display goes black even when I am actively using the PC and it will not unlock I can only get the LG logo or "DVI-D Power Saving Mode" message. I then have to restart the PC.

    I am running Windows 7.

Looking at the Control Panel, Devices and Printers it is showing E2250 (the model of the LG display I have). When I click on Properties/Hardware it says "generic PnP Monitor" - is this what it should say?

This is a brand new PC and monitor. Can someone from Novatech Support reply to this please?

    Thanks

hmm, click on the properties of the PnP monitor like you said, and install the monitor drivers manually

extract to desktop and browse the driver installation to it

It's still going into Power Saving Mode. Admittedly I used the driver from the CD supplied with the LG screen. So I tried the website you recommended in previous post. It did a scan of my PC, told me that there was an updated driver available but I couldn't download it because payment is required. It said I had a valid subscription but that didn't help as I don't have a login. The driver they say I need is dated 16 October 2010 and the number is 8.17.12.6099.

    thanks

8.17.12.6099 is just latest NVidia graphics driver. Might fix it. Might not.

Always a plan to have a recent set of graphics drivers though. Windows update will do this too.
