Not a problem which monitor you looking at? Am thinking xr34 currently.
Still deciding but its gotta have 144hz refresh as thats the deal breaker @2k smooth gaming with out the need to run 2x980ti in sli to get 4k 60fps! And be freesync obviously!
Would love an ips panel but not sure i can justify the cost so near xmas the kids wont like the orange and lump of coal in their stockings so I better stick with the sensible option for now lol
The BenQ XL2730Z is pretty favourite at the moment though
I fancy one of these ultra wides
Me too but theres nothing over 75hz which makes it pointless for us fps junkies the smoothness and 2k of 144hz is just so much more than 4k or ultrawide for me right now! IPS would be the 1 for me and it pains me to say i cant afford it but hey limits are limits lol
i play mostly mmorpg's - the smoothness depends on the internet link more than the monitor! 75Hz is fine for me never had a monitor over 60 before, although i would prefer 100Hz obviously...
just realised AMD doe not write decent linux or mac os drivers - not saying the nvidia ones are decent but they do exist... gah!!! the mac os drivers will be highly irritating as i do plan to use this as a hackintosh too...
Drivers all round this year have been pretty dire on all levels lol so to get a decent out of windows experience is really gonna be tough lol
Nvidia keep doing drivers for Mac, but their gpu only fits in the old Mac Pro. These were/are pretty awesome machines but the market must be tiny :(. I really can't see them continuing longer unless they actually are targeting the hackintosh community?
Well, current plan is, get a 960, probably the zotac. This should tide me over until pascal comes out. Hopefully the uw will of hit some competition, and prices dropped a bit there too.
Failing that, I live with the 960 and pay off some mortgage!
