Inherited an older Novatech Mod NNB-939 Laptop, Ser no 7304184-001 with an intel I3 2350M cpu.
At some time it’s had Windows 10 instaled on it which works fine btw.
However, in Device manager it’s missing 2 “Base system Devices” .
The web cam doesn’t work and although the battery works when unplugged, the icon (bottom right) states “No battery detected”.
Any help finding these drivers would be greatfully recieved.
Hi
So Model 939 was a unit on sale in 2012, three years before Windows 10 appeared, So officially we dont have a set of formal drivers for Windows 10 for this device.
However we might be able to find some drivers if only unofficial ones, but to do that we will need to identify what the missing base system drivers are. To do that you will need to double click on the base device in device manager. In the window that opens click on the details tab. You will see a drop down box called property. Change the selection to the hardware IDs option. You will then see in the value box some PCI\VEN and DEV Values. If you can provide this information for these devices we can then confirm what those devices are and this should help in the search for drivers.

Hi
So VEN_197B is for Jmicron and the DEV_2393 is for a PCIe to Host Card Controller. So in short its a device for the card reader on the unit.
Below is the last driver i could find that they released for this controller. The controller itself was EOL before Windows 10 so this driver is not official for WIndows 10 as it does not look like Jmicron developed it further. So i can only provide this as is, it hopefully will work but still a chance it wont

Hope that helps.

spot on Coops thank you. “Base system drivers missing” cleared and Jamicron card reader populated in Device manager. Once again thank you - much apreciated.
