Should I have updated the bios at some stage?

Novatech PC-1868C OEM 64 bit
bios version American Megatrends inc F5 19.6.2014
SM BIOS v 2.7
Win 8.1
v6.3.9600 build 9600
been having problems with painfully slow start up, not a lot in start up folder, no new installations, virus checks done, boot scan reveals the following (and others)

please work from the basis that you are talking to an IT idiot, any help would be appreciated.

Go to run type msconfig
Look at the startup tab

Flashing the BIOS would not solve this particular issue.
I have seen this reported before in Windows 8.1 not sure why it suffers this corruption, but could be signs of some sort of hardware fault. First thing i would try is this.
Open a CMD Window with Admin rights and run the following command

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it has completed restart the system.
Monitor to see if issue is now resolved or if problem continues.

  1. ran msconfig, looked at startup tab - result - nothing on there

  2. logged on as Administrator, copied and pasted the DISM command twice (first with no space after the cursor, second with a space after cursor - I did say that I’m an IT Idiot), both results came back as needs elevation to administration.

ps I already ran the

dism.exe /image:C: /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions

then

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

then

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

sfc /scannow result came back as no problems found

Any other suggestions please,
